About Pawel Glowacki

Hello, my name is Pawel Glowacki and here is a short introduction about me. I was born in Poland and after traveling the globe at a young age I currently live in North Carolina. I graduated in May 2010 from UNC-Charlotte with a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and concentration in Business. My favorite hobbies are soccer and the Forex with a dose of entrepreneurship here and there.

I am currently working part-time for Businesshug as a product developer and customer support representative and am seeking new projects to work on.

To contact me, join me on Linkedin or read more about me on StackOverflow Careers. You can also follow me on Twitter.

Current Work - what am I working on?

Businesshug Logo
As the lead product developer at Businesshug, I am in charge of implementing and making ideas come to life from the ground up. I use every possible technology and resource that is out there to get the job done to provide the end user a product that is 3S (Secure, Simple, and Speedy).

Booxme Logo
As a University student at UNC-Charlotte buying and selling books at the end of the semester was a tedious task. I worked on a project named Booxme to simplify the way students search for books using a phone based tracking system.

Viewmo Logo
In 2009, I worked on a project called Viewmo with the goal of making searching for clothes easier through the use of photography. I built the website and worked with a graphic designer for the front-end graphics UI. Due to the complexity of the service, it is currently in Alpha version.

Past Work - what have I completed

Qpicker Logo
We use Netflix on a weekly basis and sometimes we had so many movies in our Netflix que that we didn't know what to watch, so we build Qpicker. I engineered the web app from the ground up, used the Netflix API to access the user data, and created an algorithim to randomly choose a movie for the user. Nate Ernst is the genious behind the design.

The Design Center Logo
The Design Center featuring JELD-WEN Windows and Doors needed a website face lift. I worked with a talented designer, Heidi Kramer, to completely rebuild The Design Center website from scratch. We expanded the new website to 50 pages, decreased homepage load time from 9 to 2 seconds, and completed the project in about 6 weeks just in time for launch.

TapStats Logo
I work on several freelance projects throughout the year. I do occasional desktop applications and created a auto FTP client-server using the .NET framework for a company named TapStats. They use the app to sync their server XML data with all of their clients. It was a neat project because the application is the basic backbone of their service.

Forex Logo
I joined FX Trading Partner as the youngest currency trader in their program at the age of 19. I purely trade the GBP/USD currency, take part in the FX Art of War (Sun Tzu) group as a alumni teacher, and continue to be a FX Trading Partner member.
